Seven year 10 students attended the prestigious Royal Institution Science Lectures in London on Thursday 14th December. The Lectures have been produced since 1825 and televised since 1936. Eminent scientists have presented in the past, including Michael Farraday, Carl Sagan, David Attenborough and Richard Dawkins.
This year's Lecture was presented by Sophie Scott, a neuroscientist and professor working at University College London. The Lecture was titled The Language of Life and explored how animals and plants communicate using sound, silent messages and chemical pheromones.
We were very lucky to win tickets to this event and have been entering the ballot to win tickets for 5 years. The Lectures will be televised on 27th December at 8pm on BBC 4.
